Insulated Containers & Generator Rooms
NLS Contractors supplies and installs insulated ISO-frame containers for generators, switchgear and electrical rooms in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Khobar and across the Kingdom. Each unit has louvres, acoustic attenuation, cable entries, lighting and air conditioning, built to ISO 668 dimensions and ISO 1496-1. Handover includes GA drawings, a ventilation calculation summary, and inspection and installation records.
A generator left in an open yard collects dust, takes the full sun and draws noise complaints. The same generator in an insulated container is protected, quieter and moves with the project. The enclosure also suits switchgear, UPS and small electrical rooms, which is why enquiries usually list more than one unit.
The shell is an ISO-frame steel container with insulated walls and roof. ISO 668 sets container dimensions and ISO 1496-1 covers construction, so units can be lifted, stacked and trucked like any other container. Rockwool insulation is used where a fire rating is specified. Floor, doors, lighting and sockets are fitted to the use of the room.
Ventilation is the real design work. The generator maker states the combustion air and cooling air the engine needs and where the hot radiator air must leave, and for emergency and standby sets NFPA 110 with the project specification governs the installation. Louvres, attenuators and ducting are sized together with the noise limit, so a quiet room does not starve the engine in July. Cable entries, fuel provisions and exhaust routing are drawn on the GA before anything is built.
Installation covers lifting points, a levelled plinth or foundation, transport and the crane lift. The site provides the base to the drawing, and the offer lists whether the power and control cabling, the transfer panel connection and the air conditioning are inside the scope. After the lift the unit is checked for level, door operation and seal, because a container racked on a poor base shows it at the doors first.
Generator sets can be supplied by the client or sourced through NLS Power, and installation of a client-supplied generator into the container is a normal scope. Price and lead time depend on container size, insulation and fit-out, and the offer states both. Send the generator model and kVA rating, its dimensions, the design ambient temperature, the noise limit, the fuel arrangement and the site city.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the container maker need from the generator supplier?+
The generator dimensions and weight, combustion and cooling airflow, heat rejection, exhaust and fuel arrangement, and the noise limit. Without them the louvres and attenuators cannot be sized.
How is noise controlled in a container generator room?+
By insulated walls and acoustic attenuators on the air paths, to the noise limit the specification gives. The ventilation calculation is shared so the attenuation does not restrict the engine's airflow.
Can the container be moved to another site later?+
Yes. It has lifting points and sits on a plinth, so it can be disconnected, lifted and re-sited. The cables, fuel connections and plinth are redone at the new location.
Who connects the generator inside the container?+
The offer states whether power and control cabling and the transfer panel connection are included. Installing a client-supplied generator is a normal scope, with the electrical interface agreed on the single line diagram.
