Structured Cabling & Network Wiring
Structured cabling covers Cat6 and Cat6A copper, OS2 and OM4 fibre backbone, patch panels, racks, outlets and labelling. Every copper link is certified and every fibre link loss-tested to ISO/IEC 11801 and ANSI/TIA-568 in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Khobar, with a test report per link, labelling schedule, rack elevations and as-builts at handover.
Structured cabling is the passive network of a building: the copper and fibre that connect every outlet to a rack and every rack to the core. It is installed once, sits behind finished walls and ceilings, and has to serve several generations of equipment, so the standards and the testing are strict. NLS Contractors prices it as a works package: cable, containment, racks, patch panels, outlets, labelling, certification testing and handover. Active network equipment such as switches is priced only where the BOQ lists it.
The copper is Cat6 or Cat6A, chosen by the specification for the speed and distance the building needs. Cat6A suits higher-speed and PoE-heavy designs such as CCTV and wireless access points. The backbone between rooms is fibre: OS2 single-mode for long runs and OM4 multimode for shorter links, terminated in fibre patch panels. ISO/IEC 11801 and ANSI/TIA-568 define the cabling classes, the channel and permanent link limits and the installation practice.
Pathways come first. Cable tray, basket and conduit routes are coordinated with the electrical and ELV packages, with separation from power, bend radius control and fire stopping at penetrations. Rack rooms are laid out with front access, cable management and room for growth, and racks are earthed and labelled.
Testing is the proof. Every copper link is certified with a field tester against the class named in the specification, and the report shows length, wire map, insertion loss, crosstalk and pass or fail. Fibre links are tested for loss, and long links are checked with an OTDR so splices and connectors can be located. Results are saved per link, not summarised.
Labelling ties the package together: outlet, patch panel port, cable and rack position follow one scheme that the client's IT team can read.
Deliverables are a test report per link, a labelling schedule, rack elevations, containment drawings and as-built drawings. To price it in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam or Khobar, send the outlet schedule, the rack room layouts, the cabling specification clauses and the BOQ. Price and lead time depend on outlet count, pathway length and the specified category, and the offer states both.

Frequently Asked Questions
Cat6 or Cat6A: which does the project need?+
Whichever the cabling specification names. Cat6A supports higher speeds and heavier PoE loads and is common for CCTV and wireless access points. The offer prices the category specified and notes the containment it needs.
What is the difference between OS2 and OM4 fibre?+
OS2 is single-mode fibre for long distances between buildings or floors. OM4 is multimode fibre for shorter backbone links inside a building. The specification states which links use which.
What does certification testing of a copper link record?+
Length, wire map, insertion loss, crosstalk and a pass or fail against the specified class. Each link has its own report, and the full set goes in the handover file.
Does the package include network switches?+
Only if the BOQ lists them. Structured cabling is the passive layer. Active equipment is priced where specified and otherwise left to the client's IT supplier.
