Cold & Hot Water Supply Piping

NLS Contractors installs cold and hot water supply piping in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Khobar and across the Kingdom: risers, branches, valves, insulation and water heaters, in PPR to ISO 15874, copper, stainless steel or HDPE to ISO 4427. Work follows SBC 701, with pressure tests, flushing and disinfection certificates in the handover.

Water supply is the plumbing system a building cannot do without and cannot easily repair. Most of it ends up behind walls and above ceilings, so it has to be right before it is covered. The scope is the risers, branches to each fixture or room, isolation valves, insulation on hot lines, and the water heaters.

Inside buildings the usual pipe is PPR made to ISO 15874 and joined by heat fusion. The specification may call for copper or stainless steel in particular areas, and HDPE to ISO 4427 is the usual choice for buried or larger-diameter runs. PPR expands noticeably when hot, so hot lines need loops, guides and fixed points as the drawings set them.

Hot water adds insulation, expansion provisions and often a return circuit, so a tap far from the heater does not run cold for a minute. Cold lines in shafts and on roofs are insulated too, since water in a pipe exposed to a Riyadh summer arrives warm. Water heaters are installed with isolation valves, relief valves and drain points, to the manufacturer's instructions.

Every system is tested before it is covered. A hydrostatic pressure test at the pressure and duration the specification states proves the joints, and the record is signed. The system is then flushed and disinfected before use, and for potable systems a water sample goes to a laboratory where the specification asks. The disinfection certificate goes into the handover file.

SBC 701 sets the sanitary and plumbing requirements, and the project specification sets pipe class, pressure rating and the test regime. Where a project connects to the public water network, the connection follows the water authority's conditions. Price depends on pipe material and diameters, total length, the number of fixtures served, insulation and heater type. Lead time depends on scope and the offer states it. Send the plumbing drawings, riser diagrams, fixture schedule, specification, BOQ and the site city.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is PPR suitable for hot water in Saudi buildings?+

Yes, in the pipe series chosen for the temperature and pressure, with expansion accommodated by loops and guides. The consultant's specification names the class and the offer prices that class.

How is a potable water system disinfected?+

It is flushed, filled with chlorine at the concentration and contact time the specification sets, flushed again, and sampled where required. The certificate is recorded in the handover file.

Do you install water heaters that the client supplies?+

Yes. Installation of client-supplied heaters, with isolation valves, relief valves, drain points and connections, is a normal scope.

Are connections to the public water network included?+

The connection point and conditions follow the water authority's requirements. The offer states whether the connection works are in scope or carried out by the authority.
